Rebecca's Baked Beans

This is another recipe from my friend Rebecca S. You know, the one that whenever she had us over for dinner my hubby told me to get the recipe. These beans are amazing!! And so simple!

Rebecca's Baked Beans

4-5 Slices of Bacon
1 Onion – Finely Chopped
2 Green Peppers – Chopped
2 Cans Pork and Beans
½ teaspoon dry mustard
½ Cup Ketchup
1/3 Cup Brown Sugar
1 tablespoon prepared Mustard

Cut raw bacon into small pieces and cook in a frying pan. Remove from pan and set aside. Cook onion and green pepper in bacon grease until tender (about 5 min). Drain. In a casserole dish combine bacon, onion, pepper and all remaining ingredients. Bake at 350° for 1 hour, or until
desired consistency is reached.

*The oven part is mostly to thicken the beans, so you can microwave the mixture for several minutes, until it’s hot, before putting it in the oven – it saves a little time.
